Then Clara dies basically the moment she gets into the labyrinth, very unlucky for her. How do you explain to your best friend that you don’t want to go into this labyrinth with her? Apparently, you don’t! You just hope you don’t get chosen! Since it’s a random selection there is really nothing she can do I’d be feeling the same way she does about it. Clara seems unhealthily obsessed with getting into the labyrinth and I think it’s half and half with seeing her brother again and getting that glory of being chosen but I guess most people take it very seriously as well since it’s hardwired into them to want it. You’re going to become an angel.” *Spoilers Below* I’m hoping there is a sequel and it is coming out soon because I need to know what happens next since it ended abruptly but there were a clear end and direction to it. The main character doesn’t seem like the strong type for a majority of the book and her weakness can be utterly frustrating but I think she will be incredible in the sequel! Favourite Quote… I loved this story so much and it ended way too fast! I did have a few issues with a couple of characters who I seriously loathed but I do enjoy when a book can invoke pure rage in me so it’s a five-star read for me! We don’t learn much about the main character as she thinks a lot of her best friend but you do get enough of her that you want to see her succeed and then the story does the rest to hook you into it. The similarities end there because this book has excellent writing, interesting characters and incredible twists and turns to the plot along the way. I don’t want to say that it’s similar to The Maze Runner but they are in a labyrinth (similar structure), they get picked to be there, they have people who go into the labyrinth and look for things and a few little details. The book has largely left a mystery and that’s the way it should be because it delivers on shock and surprise throughout the whole book. I received Children of Icarus for review by Capstone (Thank-you so much!) and I was dying to read it after only reading the small blurb about the book.
